  1. In this role play, you are going to engage with ChatGPT as your conversation partner having a back-and-forth conversation. The goal is to elicit information from ChatGPT and submit what you have learned to your instructor on Moodle.

    Here is the topic and description of the role play:

    Das Klassentreffen

    Sie sind auf einem Klassentreffen in Ihrer alten High-School Klasse. Sie unterhalten sich mit einem alten Schulfreund*einer alten Schulfreundin. Fragen Sie was er*sie nach Abschluss der High-School gemacht hat, was er*sie jetzt macht und was seine*ihre Pläne für die nächsten Jahre sind. Sprechen Sie auch über die gemeinsame Schulzeit.

 

  1. To get started, access ChatGPT at https://chat.openai.com and log in. Note: If you have never done so, you need to sign up and register first. Then copy the prompt below into the message box in ChatGPT.

    Prompt:

    Pretend we are going to see each other at a reunion of our High School class after several years.  You are going to act as an old friend of mine. We are going to talk about what we did after we graduated from High School, what we are currently doing, and our time during High School.

    Here are the rules:

    • This is a back-and-forth conversation. I am going to ask you a question. In your response, make up some answers and then ask me a question as well.
    • Ask ONLY one question at a time.
    • The conversation takes place in German. Use language at the A2 level.
    • Provide only ONE example when asked for help or clarification.
    • Do not use English translations in your responses.

 

  1. After concluding the roleplay, have ChatGPT provide you feedback on the correctness of your answers in German. To do so, copy the following prompt into the chat box:

    Here are the rules:

    1. Give me feedback only on MY responses.
    2. List each of my responses again.
    3. Highlight the grammatical and spelling error.
    4. Provide a corrected answer in German.
    5. Explain my errors in English.

    Review the error corrective feedback, and if necessary, ask ChatGPT again to give you feedback on your answers.

 

  1. 1. Submit (copy and paste) the whole dialog, including the error corrective feedback, on your Moodle assignment. Make sure to include the http: address from ChatGPT.
  2. 2. In your own words, briefly summarize what you have learned from your conversation partner and submit it on moodle. For example, “Nach Abschluss der High-School hat er .........“.
