THE 20TH CONFERENCE OF THE SLAVIC COGNITIVE LINGUISTICS ASSOCIATION
(SCLC-2025)

10-12 October 2025

The conference will be locally organized and hosted by the Department of Slavic, German, and Eurasian Studies.

Location and Date: 

The conference will be held on the University of Kansas Campus (Lawrence, Kansas) in Wescoe Hall on Saturday 11 October and Sunday 12 October 2025. Specific rooms and registration information to be announced later.

On 10 October 2025, there will be half a day in online format, with a of 10 papers starting at 15.00 local time (Central Time Zone: -6 UTC). This option will be open only for presenters who cannot travel to the USA because of visa and/or other well-documented restrictions imposed on their countries, including Ukraine, Serbia, Russia and the former Soviet republics.

Call For Papers:

We invite abstracts for 20+10 minute presentations on any topic of relevance to Slavic Cognitive Linguistics. Abstracts should be based on work that has not yet been published. We especially encourage submissions from young researchers. Abstracts can be written in English or in any Slavic language and should not be longer than 500 words, including references. Each individual may be involved in a maximum of two abstracts. Abstracts will be evaluated anonymously so please refrain from any self-identification in the body of the abstract.

The deadline for abstract submission is May 4,  May 11, 2025.

Abstracts should be submitted via email to: mmstanoje@m.ffzg.hr in .doc/.pdf form. Please list the authors, their emails and affiliations in the body of the email.

Authors will be notified of acceptance / rejection by 31 May, 2025.

A room block has been created at the Oread Hotel on the University of Kansas campus (1200 Oread Ave. Lawrence, KS 66044). Conference rates are $144 per night (single King bed or two Queen beds). Use this link to book the Oread Block.
